What would you do if to your doorstep, I came?
Would you greet me with joy, or turn away in shame?
Would you jump for joy and crush me in loving embrace?
Or would you glare at me and slam the door in my face?
Would you want to run away with me, into the moonlight?
For us the book on love is something I am trying to rewrite
It may be arrogant to assume so, but we would be unique
We could run away to South America, maybe even buy a cacique
We could just lie together on the beach, in the heat of the sun
Being together we can guarantee everything in life will be done
I can't promise that it will be a life of big houses and fancy cars
But it will be full of simpler pleasures, like dancing under the stars
You're the one with unconditional love I would like to imbue
We could travel from town to town, working only when we need to
We could travel from Rio to Sydney and all the way back to Rome
Or we could simply settle down, have kids and set up our own home
If you choose we can walk away from here without a backward glance
All you have to do for this kind of life my love is to just give me a chance
